La Plata, the capital city of Buenos Aires province, was founded on November 19th, 1882, and is one of the few planned cities in Argentina.
It has a particular design, and its layout is a perfect square crossed by diagonals that cross it and form rhombuses. With an advanced design for its time, La Plata has squares placed exactly every six blocks, showing thus balance and order between the built and the green space.
Nowadays, La Plata is a vibrant city with lots of cultural and sports events. It is known as the “City of Diagonals” or the “City of Students”.
The symposium will be held at the Karakachoff building of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP) in La Plata’s downtown area.
